The BackCountry Edition is an optional variant of the Lone Star and Big Horn models geared towards conquering off-road terrains. It doesn’t have the bells and the whistles of the Laramie or Limited trims, but it also doesn’t carry the same price tag. Instead, it offers affordable, off-road capabilities beyond the standard truck. Here’s everything, the 2022 Ram 1500 BackCountry has to offer.

2022 Ram 1500 Laramie G/T and Rebel G/T

Two New Ram 1500 Models Available in 2022

In 2022, Ram is offering buyers more customization and options in their pickup truck lineup. Two new variants of the Laramie and Rebel trims will be available later this year, targeting performance enthusiasts and truck owners who want a sportier truck. The new trucks, the 2022 Laramie G/T and 2022 Rebel G/T will come straight from the factory featuring unique performance features, some of which are available on the new 2022 Ram 1500 TRX.

The availability of two new models that come modified from the factory is nothing new to FCA vehicles, now Stellantis after the merger between Fiat Chrysler and PSA Groupe. Look at the incredible customization and offering available in the Jeep Wrangler lineup alone. The same can be said for Ram trucks historically. It seems as if Auto Manufacturers are getting their hands in the cookie jar by offering aftermarket accessories up front. While we hate seeing the aftermarket parts market suffer, there will still be plenty of upgrades for these new trucks. A huge advantage to buying a factory upgraded truck is that they will retain their warranty. These new trucks offer many new owners the slightly enhanced capabilities they want, without voiding any warranty.

2022 Ram 1500 Laramie G/T And Rebel G/T Features

The new G/T models are a perfect pairing between increased performance and maintaining the luxury appeal of the Laramie and Rebel trims. Many external and interior features are retained, but Ram created some unique ways to provide a sportier feel and improve functionality.

Many Exterior features of the 2022 model year are left alone. 2022 Ram 1500 Laramie G/T and 2022 Ram 1500 Rebel G/T will be distinguishable by a sport performance hood and G/T decals. It looks like they will retain their tires and other attributes. G/T Models are exclusively available in a Crew Cab configuration.

Interior

The interior is unique to G/T models as well. 2022 Ram Laramie G/T and Rebel G/T interiors will have paddle shifters, a console-mounted performance shifter and metal pedals. G/T models will feature unique bucket seats adorned with the G/T logo and high bolsters. All-weather floor mats are also standard.

Console Shifter

Ram is bringing back the console shifter. It offers a sportier feel when compared to the standard knob that is used on regular models. This feature is shared with certain 2021 Ford F-150 Models.

Paddler Shifters

For more control and a more exciting driving experience, Ram 1500 G/T Models have standard paddle shifters, a feature shared with the 2021 Ram TRX.

Ram 1500 G/T Performance

The most important differentiator between Laramie G/T and Rebel G/T models and the standard Laramie and Rebel models is their performance and technology. 2022 Ram 1500 G/T models will have a factory installed cold-end exhaust and a cold air intake. New performance pages, viewed from 12″ Uconnect Center Display, explain these features and the vehicle to owners to provide a greater understanding of operating data and performance. This app will provide real-time vehicle monitoring, similar to digital gauge displays like the Edge Insight CTS3. Information displayed by the app include timers, like 0-60 mph timers, g-force, gauges, and engine performance. This data is downloadable to a USB stick, allowing you to keep track of data, or easily share it.

2022 Ram 1500 G/T Engine

2022 Ram 1500 Laramie G/T and Rebel G/T trucks will come standard with the 5.7L Naturally-Aspirated V8 Hemi eTorque Mild Hybrid Assist Engine.
